The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is the next step after the Open Water Diver course, aimed at enhancing divers’ skills and expanding their knowledge of different types of diving. Components of the Advanced Open Water Diver Course
- Deep Diving:
- Trainees learn how to dive to depths of up to 30 meters (100 feet), including understanding the effects of depth on the body and how to plan deep dives safely.
- Underwater Navigation:
- Trainees acquire advanced navigation skills using a compass and natural underwater landmarks to ensure a safe return to the starting point.
- Specialty Dives:
- In addition to deep diving and navigation, trainees choose three other specialty dives such as night diving, wreck diving, drift diving, or diving with different marine creatures.
Requirements for Enrolling in the Advanced Open Water Diver Course
- Minimum Age:
- Participants must be at least 12 years old. Special courses are offered for children between the ages of 12 and 14 under the name “Junior Advanced Open Water Diver”.
- Open Water Diver Certification:
- Participants must hold an Open Water Diver certification from PADI or an equivalent certification from a recognized diving organization.
